The sandy beach of Vardia is situated very close to the port, at a distance less than 100 meters to the northern part of it. It is considered as one of the best beaches of Folegandros.
The beach has fine dark sand and fine pebbles and the tamarisk trees offer their shade to the swimmers, at least for some time. The ends of the beach are closed by beautiful high rocks, which make it scenic and secluded enough. As it is situated very close to the port, the lack of facilities (bars etc) is not a big problem.
For any case of emergency, the corresponding services of the town of Folegandros (Chora) are available for you (some 3,5 kilometers at the Northwest).
Access to the beach is very easy on foot from Karavostassi(s) (just 2-3 minutes walk). You have to follow the safe staircase, whose steps lead directly to the beach.
